The 46th Annual Advanced Homicide Investigation Symposium/ 31st Annual Arnold Markle Symposium will be held on Monday, October 23rd, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., both in-person and virtually. This symposium focuses on Domestic Violence: Intervention and Investigation, is proudly hosted by the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science and co-sponsored by the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) and Jane Doe No More.

During this full-day symposium, leading experts will provide insight and guidance on the key concepts to address both intervention and the investigation of domestic violence cases. In addition to addresses by the keynote speakers, the symposium will include talks by leading experts and a panel discussion on the forensic investigation of incidents of domestic violence.

Keynote Speakers include:

1. Connecticut State’s Attorney Margaret E. Kelley (Ansonia/Milford JD) Office of the Chief’s State’s Attorney of the CT State Division of Criminal Justice

2. Dr. Galina Portnoy, Ph.D., Yale University and Director for the Intimate Partner Violence Center for Innovation and Research (IPV-CIR) at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VACHS)

3. Dr. Henry C. Lee, Ph.D., Founder of the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science

WHERE YOU CAN ATTEND: Symposium will be a hybrid event, held simultaneously at the University of New Haven – Bucknall Theater and as a webinar (Zoom) where anyone can participate in all time zones.
