Crime Scene Photography

Crime Scene Photography

March 28-April 1, 2011

$695.00

Crime Scene Photography is the most important aspect of proper scene documentation. The purpose of crime scene photography is to provide a permanent visual record of the scene as it was initially found and then to document subsequent analysis of the scene for eventual use in court. While equipment and media have changed, the need for a “fair and accurate representation” of the physical evidence remains the standard for admission of the photograph into evidence at trial.

Crime Scene Photography offered by the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science is an invaluable aid to crime scene investigators. The importance of a systematic, organized, permanent photographic record to a successful investigation is paramount. Proper use of photographic equipment, cameras, film, digital images, and lighting is essential to correct, high quality crime scene photo-documentation.

Crime Scene Photography is an intensive, hands on, 5-day program designed for investigators and crime scene personnel who have the responsibility of documenting scenes. The class will be strictly limited to 24 persons so that there will be ample opportunity to work directly with class instructors.
