DEATH INVESTIGATION
Death scenes often present the investigator with many dynamic challenges. This seminar is designed for law enforcement investigators, crime scene personnel, and criminalists whose responsibility it is to respond to and investigate and/or document death scenes.
The Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science is proud to present this course to develop skills in death investigation by expanding the attendees’ base of knowledge in death scene protocol, legal considerations, laboratory services, the role of the medical examiner, wound identification/interpretation, investigation procedures, forensic anthropology, and evidence processing. The course will also focus on new developments in forensic science and related technologies. Instruction covers determination of cause and manner of death, rigor mortis and postmortem lividity, decomposition, relationship of wound to body, and crime scene reconstruction of deaths.
