Investigation of shooting incidents often involves reconstructing the shooting scene to determine the positions of the people and firearms involved, the angles and trajectories of rounds fired, and the discovery and collection of the ballistics evidence. This course is designed for law enforcement officers and it includes classroom instruction and theory on shooting reconstruction as well as hands on range time.
Students will learn how to determine positions of the shooter(s) and victim(s) and the calculations involved in distance and trajectory analysis. Different caliber weapons will be used to illustrate the characteristics of varied rounds, and their effects, that may be encountered in shooting investigations.
The class size is limited to 24 law enforcement students. POSTC RTR credit will be sought for Connecticut police officers.REGISTER FOR THIS COURSE
