Basic Blood Stain Analysis

Bloodstain Pattern Analysis is very important for police officers, investigators, and forensic scientists to understand in crime scene investigation. Valuable evidence and insight into how a violent crime occurred can be made from proper interpretation of blood stains. This evidence often becomes part of testimony in court.

The course will allow the crime scene investigator to locate, photograph and document bloodstain patterns. The student will learn the physics involved in creating bloodstain patterns and wounds. There will be laboratory and practical exercises for this objective. The student will learn the probable causes of various bloodstain patterns found at crime scenes and will learn from the instructors how the bloodstain patterns may be interpreted.
