Advanced Forensic Science Training

Tuition: $100 or $25 per day

This is a five-part online training course on Advanced Forensic Science sponsored by the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science at the University of New Haven. The course will be held live on Zoom and will be conducted by Dr. Henry C. Lee and Institute instructors from 2:00 pm til 4:00 pm EDT each day. The final day, June 26th, will include a panel presentation by instructors.

Schedule and topics:

Mon, June 22
2 – 3 p.m. – New concepts in crime scene investigation & pattern evidence reconstruction
3 – 4 p.m. – Famous cases revisited (Dr. Henry Lee)

Tues, June 23
2 – 3 p.m. – Bloodstain pattern examination & analysis
3 – 4 p.m. – Bloodstain pattern case studies

Wed, June 24
2 – 3 p.m. – Trace evidence, advanced instrumentation & microscopy
3 – 4 p.m. – Trace evidence in solving crimes

Thurs, June 25
2 – 3 p.m. – DNA evidence, basics & applications
3 – 4 p.m. – Secondary DNA transfer, mixtures, familial searching, & genetic genealogy

Fri, June 26
2 – 3 p.m. – Crime scene documentation
3 – 4 p.m. – Case presentations, panel discussion & review

This course is designed for law enforcement, attorneys, forensic science, and teachers. High school teachers will benefit from the information which can inform new curriculums in forensic science.
A certificate will be issued for completion of the course.

Options may include attending 1, 2, 3, 4, or the entire 5 days. The 5 day course registration fee is $100.00. Individual day attendance is $25.00 per day.
